Mcusta's MC-191C Friction Folder is inspired by the traditional Japanese Higonokami (肥後守) - a type of friction folder, which has a Chikiri ('thumb lever') that can be used to both open the blade and prevent it from accidentally closing while in use.The hollow ground blade is VG-10 core san mai with hardnes 60-61 HRC and the wavy lamination line intentionally mimics the famous Hamon of traditional Katana swords. The silky-smooth-opening slip joint mechanism is complimented with a ball bearing detent to keep the blade closed as well as set in the open position (non-locking).
