The Tsuchi series offers a combination of the history of Japanese samurai swords and Mcusta's passion for precision manufacturing and contemporary design. Inspired by the Japanese samurai sword, with Katana-style handles and a forged blade in the shape of a tanto.The blade is made of 33-layer Damascu stainless steel and a core of VG-10 and Tsuchime forging.The Tsuchi series knives have anodized aluminum handles, in the typical shape of a samurai sword, and the X symbol, available in many colors.The Tsuchi knife is light and comfortable, it has a smooth opening and closing of the blade thanks to special Teflon washers. It has an anodized pin on both sides of the blade for use with the right or left hand. The lock is secure thanks to the stainless steel plate which is part of the housing. Mcusta's MC-192C Friction Folder is inspired by the traditional Japanese Higonokami (肥後守) - a type of friction folder, which has a Chikiri ('thumb lever') that can be used to both open the blade and prevent it from accidentally closing while in use.The hollow ground blade is VG-10 core san mai with hardnes 60-61 HRC and the wavy lamination line intentionally mimics the famous Hamon of traditional Katana swords.
